Prof Richard Schilling
Richard is the Chief Investigator of the AFHF study, AFFU-AW study and CSAF-AW study. He is Professor of Cardiology and Electrophysiology at Queen Mary University of London and Consultant Cardiologist at St Bartholomew's Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. He has been an academic clinician leading on clinical trials for more than 15 years with particular interest in Atrial Fibrillation management. Alongside his clinical workload, Richard now pursues research that he believes will make a meaningful improvement in the lives of patients with heart rhythm disorders and their management.
Dr Nikhil Ahluwalia
Nikhil is a Clinical Research Training Fellow, leading the implementation and organisation of the AFHF study, AFFU-AW study and CSAF-AW study. He was awarded his Fellowship by Barts Charity to design and complete these trials as part of his PhD. After his general Cardiology training, Nikhil is undertaking his Specialty Registrar training in Electrophysiology at St Bartholomew's Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. He is also the Academic Lead for the British Junior Cardiologist's Association and the Trainee representation to the British Heart Rhythm Society.
